A notable development has occurred in the IMM investigation. Ertan Yıldız, Advisor to the Mayor for Subsidiaries, and Ziya Gökmen Togay, Chairman of the Board of İSTAÇ, named each other within the scope of a "bribery accusation." Following the Sarılar Group's allegation of a 63 million TL bribe, Togay directed the blame at Yıldız, while Yıldız directed it at Togay. Despite all these allegations, both individuals were released.

EFFECTIVE REMORSE STATEMENTS IN THE PROSECUTOR'S INDICTMENT

According to a report by Halk TV, the indictment prepared by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the IMM investigation also included the defendants' statements of effective remorse. Ertan Yıldız, who was detained in the first operation conducted on March 19, had been released with judicial control and house arrest measures following his statements on May 6 and May 20.

YILDIZ: "TOGAY TOOK THE MONEY IN MY NAME"

Following Yıldız's release, his additional statements provided on June 17, July 4, and August 12 were also added to the file. In his statement dated August 12, Ertan Yıldız claimed that the 63 million TL, which the Sarılar firm alleged it had paid, was taken by Ziya Gökmen Togay using his own name.

"ERTAN YILDIZ TOOK THE 63 MILLION TL"

Ahmet Sarı, in his statement on May 27, voiced the allegations with the following words: "Ertan Yıldız received a total of 63 million TL from us during this process. The dates I mentioned are the dates we withdrew the money from our company safe or the bank, and the deliveries of these took place on the same day or within 4-5 days. Different drivers sent to us through Ziya Gökmen Togay picked up the money from the company building located in Kağıthane."

TOGAY: "THE INSTRUCTIONS WERE COMING FROM YILDIZ"

İSTAÇ General Manager Ziya Gökmen Togay, in his statement of effective remorse on June 24, stated: "When I started my duty at İSTAÇ, the Sarılar firm was already working with İSTAÇ. Ertan Yıldız had given instructions that no payments should be made to the Sarılar firm without his knowledge. Sometimes he would call me and say that the firm had contacted him, that they were in financial distress, that a payment should be made, and he wanted to be informed about every process regarding this firm. At times, he would ask me to inform the firm that he would send someone to the Sarılar firm in three days, or sometimes two days later. I would only inform İsmail Sarı that 'Ertan Yıldız will send someone to you in a day or two' as per the instructions given to me. Payments were made within approximately 1 week to 10 days after the instructions to make payments to the Sarılar firm were received from both Fatih Keleş and Ertan Yıldız...."

THREE CONFESSIONS, ONE RESULT: RELEASE

Despite one confessor saying "I paid the money" and the other two individuals providing statements blaming each other, it was noted that all three defendants were released before the indictment was issued.
