Surprising request from Dilan Polat while in custody: 'This place isn't good for my skin, I need to take my vitamins'

The couple Dilan Polat and Engin Polat, who have been widely discussed for their luxurious lifestyle and are currently in the spotlight over money laundering allegations, were taken into custody in an operation conducted last night.

Teams from the Istanbul Police Department's Financial Crimes Investigation Branch launched an operation targeting Engin Polat and Dilan Polat at 01:15 following instructions from the Anadolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

Simultaneous raids were carried out on 43 addresses during the operation, which spanned 6 provinces centered in Istanbul. The 14 individuals taken into custody were brought to the Istanbul Police Department following health checks.

MASAK REPORT

Details of the operation, which took place during the night, have begun to emerge. According to the MASAK report, the Polat couple deposited the money they obtained into the accounts of family members by issuing fake invoices through 5 companies. It was determined that the Polat couple attempted to cover the trail of the money using this method.

As reported by Milliyet, the source of the money for which the fake invoices were issued has not yet been determined. It was learned that the first question to be asked to Dilan Polat and Engin Polat during their interrogation will be about the source of the money. It was learned that Engin Polat and Dilan Polat, among the suspects whose statements have not yet been taken, will be the last to be interrogated. According to the information received, the number of detainees has risen to 17. It was learned that the number of suspects for whom detention warrants have been issued is 30.

It was revealed that the operation order was given following evidence obtained during examinations of companies belonging to Engin Polat and Dilan Polat. It was learned that concrete evidence for the investigation was obtained from the seized digital devices and documents.

It was learned that in addition to charges of laundering proceeds of crime, opposition to the Tax Procedure Law, and forgery of official documents, Engin Polat and Dilan Polat are also being charged with establishing and managing an organization.

80 PAGES OF DOCUMENTS

During the searches conducted at the Polat couple's home, documents including 80 pages of title deeds and invoices were seized. 10 thousand dollars were found at the home of fugitive company partner Zümrüt Yerebakan, 1 hard drive and 350 bullets at Zekai Tepe's home, and 120 thousand lira, 36 account statements, and 1 laptop were seized at Ahmet Gün's home.

DETAILS OF THE OPERATION

CNN Türk Istanbul News Manager Nihat Uludağ provided the following information:

"They are currently in a detention cell at the Vatan Police Headquarters. The interrogation process will begin tomorrow. There are detention warrants for 30 people. All 30 people will be taken into custody; the operation is ongoing. The operation began based on MASAK's preliminary investigation report. Details will emerge when the full report is sent. In the preliminary report received so far, there are 200 million liras worth of fake documents obtained from 3 companies that are considered suspicious. MASAK's report will solve the knot."

The Polat couple and those with them were taken from the Financial Crimes Investigation Branch, where their processing continues, to the hospital for a routine health check. The suspects were brought back to the police station at 23:40 after their health check, which they attended at 23:00.
