Suspect who martyred Gendarmerie Petty Officer Sergeant Çangır arrested

Last week, during a road safety patrol near the Divane Mosque on the Ordu-Giresun highway, A.T., who fled from the gendarmerie on his motorcycle, struck and martyred Gendarmerie Petty Officer Sergeant Çangır. The motorcycle driver who caused the death of Gendarmerie Petty Officer Sergeant Mehmet Fatih Çangır (27) has been arrested.

The motorcycle driver A.T., who struck and martyred Gendarmerie Petty Officer Sergeant Mehmet Fatih Çangır at a checkpoint in the Gülyalı district of Ordu last week, has been referred to the courthouse.

Following the incident, the driver A.T. (27), who was taken to Ordu State Hospital, was transferred to the gendarmerie after his treatment.

REVEALED TO HAVE OVER 20 TRAFFIC FINES

A.T. was brought to the courthouse following his processing at the gendarmerie. It was observed that gendarmerie teams took extensive security measures in front of the courthouse during the suspect's transfer. It was learned that A.T. had more than 20 traffic fines for previous offenses such as driving without a license and fleeing from checkpoints, and had also received penalties for alcohol and drug use.

WHAT HAPPENED?

During a road safety control patrol conducted by the Gülyalı District Gendarmerie Command Central Gendarmerie Station Command on September 18 near the Divane Mosque on the Ordu-Giresun highway, the motorcycle with license plate 07 GU 227, driven by A.T., was signaled to stop. The motorcycle driver, who did not stop, struck Gendarmerie Petty Officer Sergeant Çangır (27), who was on the side of the road.

Çangır, who was seriously injured, was martyred at the hospital where he was taken, and the driver A.T. was detained.

 

ARRESTED

A.T. was brought to the courthouse after his processing at the gendarmerie. The suspect, who was brought to the courthouse under extensive security measures by gendarmerie teams, was arrested by the judgeship to which he was referred.
