Suspect who shot and wounded IETT driver apprehended

E.G., the driver of a bus operating on the Kadıköy-Ümraniye line, got into an argument with D.C. (34) in the Kadıköy area yesterday evening.

D.C., who followed E.G. to the final stop in the Adem Yavuz neighborhood, launched an armed attack on the bus driver after arguing with him again there.

While the attacker fled the scene, the bus driver was taken to the Sancaktepe Şehit Prof. Dr. İlhan Varank Training and Research Hospital after receiving initial medical intervention from emergency teams.

Police apprehended the suspect, D.C., after determining his location in the Battalgazi neighborhood of Sultanbeyli.

It was noted that the suspect, who was taken into custody, stated in his testimony that he was intoxicated and did not remember why they had argued.

It was reported that D.C., who was found to have 12 prior criminal records during the investigation, will be referred to the courthouse on charges of "intentional injury" following the completion of police procedures.
