Suspect who tore down and threw the Turkish flag to the ground in Kağıthane caught! 11 criminal records found

A suspect who tore a Turkish flag hanging in front of a business in Istanbul's Kağıthane district from its place and threw it to the ground was caught in a short time through the efforts of police teams.

In the incident that occurred in Yeşilce Neighborhood on Friday, July 10, at around 06:30, a person passing by tore the Turkish flag hanging in front of the business from its place and threw it to the ground. Those moments were recorded by the business's security camera.

IDENTIFIED THROUGH SECURITY CAMERAS

Launching an investigation following the report, the Kağıthane District Police Department teams examined the security camera footage and identified the suspect as Cafer B. (51). It was learned that the suspect, who was taken into custody in an operation, said in his statement at the police station, "I lose myself from time to time due to my nervous disorder."

DETERMINED TO HAVE 11 CRIMINAL RECORDS

It was reported that the police teams did not find any evidence confirming the health condition claimed by the suspect during their investigation.

In the interrogation, it was learned that Cafer B. had a total of 11 criminal records, primarily for "Providing a place and opportunity for gambling," "Theft," "Threat," "Intentional injury," and "Violation of Law No. 6284," and that he had previously entered and exited prison twice.

The suspect, whose procedures at the police station were completed, was referred to the courthouse on charges of "Insulting the Sovereignty Symbols of the State."
