Suspicious fall at dialysis service: 75-year-old patient suffers brain hemorrhage

It has been alleged that 75-year-old Deste Maşa, who was receiving treatment at a private dialysis center operating in the Sultangazi district of Istanbul, was severely injured as a result of a fall while being transported by the dialysis service.

According to the allegations, Deste Maşa, who was being transported by a shuttle vehicle sent by the center for her dialysis treatment, fell either while exiting the vehicle or while walking inside the service cabin. It was stated that the elderly patient was severely injured following the fall and suffered a brain hemorrhage.

TREATMENT CONTINUES IN HOSPITAL

It was reported that Maşa, who was taken to the hospital after the incident, is unconscious and her treatment is ongoing. While no official statement has been made regarding her health status, it was stated that the patient is being kept under intensive medical observation.

It was learned that the incident was reported to the relevant District Health Directorate. It was conveyed that a comprehensive investigation into the process is expected, along with the necessary assessments to prevent similar situations from occurring.

STATEMENT FROM HER SON

Speaking to Odatv, Deste Maşa's son, Serdar Maşa, shared the information provided to them regarding the incident. Stating that his mother was picked up from home in the morning by the dialysis center's shuttle, Serdar Maşa said the following:

“She has been unconscious since that day. My mother was picked up by the dialysis center's shuttle around 9 or 10 in the morning. She went to the dialysis center. According to the information given to us, she fell while getting off the shuttle or while walking in the cabin. The shuttle belongs to them. It is their responsibility to accompany the patient. They are supposed to do everything. I spoke with the authorized doctor there. I was only told, ‘She fell, we called an ambulance.’ No other information was provided.”
