Özel's absence from Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas's address to the Turkish Grand National Assembly last week had drawn attention. CHP Group Deputy Chairman Ali Mahir Başarır had stated that Özel's leg was broken and that was the reason he did not attend the session.
DİLİPAK: THEY SHOT HIM
Writer Abdurrahman Dilipak made a striking post about Özel on his social media account today. In his post, Dilipak wrote, "Özgür Özel's leg is not broken, they shot him! Good God, what is happening in this country? Who shot him, why did they shoot him? Why is this truth being hidden? Where is the person who shot him now? This happens to the chairman of a main opposition party, what should be done if no one knows the truth of the matter?
"WILL THE CHP NOT PURSUE THIS MATTER?"
Is the shooter someone from the same party? Well, where were his bodyguards while Özel was being shot, was there no one with him? Was the man caught or not? Are there any others injured? Has this matter been referred to the judiciary, and if not, why? Will the CHP as a party not pursue this matter?
An injustice done to one person is actually a threat directed at the entire society. If 'the arm is broken and stays within the sleeve,' those arms either remain crippled or become gangrenous and are amputated."
"DID YOU NOT FEAR GOD AT ALL?"
A swift denial came from the CHP Communications account to the post, which quickly became a trending topic on social media. Stating in no uncertain terms that the claims were untrue, the CHP reacted to Dilipak with the words, "How did you manage to fit so many blatant lies and slanders into one piece of writing? Did you not fear God at all while writing these conspiracy theories? Did you not think at all that you might be committing a sin? Unbelievable!"
