Tanju Özcan announces his resignation from CHP after being referred to disciplinary board: Until the junta occupation ends

Tanju Özcan, who was referred to the disciplinary board with a request for permanent expulsion from the CHP, announced his decision to resign on his social media account. Özcan stated, "I will not provide a defense to the so-called High Disciplinary Board (YDK) of the appointed trustee. At this point, I am resigning from my CHP membership until the political junta occupation ends."

The CHP Central Executive Board (MYK) met under the chairmanship of CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu.

The meeting held at the CHP Headquarters lasted 2 hours. CHP Spokesperson Müslim Sarı made a statement on his social media account following the meeting.

Stating that they evaluated the country's agenda and recent developments within the party during the meeting, Sarı used the following expressions regarding the decisions taken:

EXPULSION REQUEST FOR TANJU ÖZCAN AND SERKAN TUNCER

"In line with the ordinary convention decision taken at the Party Assembly meeting held yesterday, it has been decided to prepare the congress calendar and make assignments regarding the execution of the process. It has been decided to refer Mersin Mezitli Mayor Serkan Tuncer and Bolu Mayor Tanju Özcan to the High Disciplinary Board with a request for permanent expulsion with precautionary measures."

ÖZCAN RESIGNS FROM CHP

A statement came from Tanju Özcan, who was removed from office after being arrested within the scope of the investigation against him. Stating that he resigned from the CHP, Özcan used the following expressions:

"The collaborator trustee and his gang have referred me to the YDK. I will not provide a defense to the so-called YDK of the appointed trustee. At this point, I am resigning from my CHP membership until the political junta occupation ends."

Following the MYK meeting held at the beginning of the week in the CHP, 9 names had been referred to the High Disciplinary Board with a request for permanent expulsion.
