As the snowfall affecting Bolu continues to negatively impact daily life, Mayor Tanju Özcan made statements regarding snow removal efforts across the city. Özcan noted that snow depth ranges from 50 to 80 centimeters in the city center and reaches 1.5 meters in higher elevations, while evaluating the measures taken and the status of the teams.
Stating that municipal teams consisting of over 600 personnel and 68 vehicles are actively working in the field, Özcan said, "We are currently experiencing a harsh winter in Bolu. Snow is a blessing, but it also brings difficulties. We are making intense efforts to clear roads and sidewalks, with support from neighboring municipalities. Our main arteries are open, and there are no disruptions in health and public transport services; however, it has not yet been possible to reach all points in side streets. We ask for our citizens' understanding in this regard."
I express my gratitude to our municipal workers and other public officials who work day and night to make life easier for our citizens during the snow captivity in Bolu. We have established communication with most of our neighboring mayors. However, the municipality we could not establish communication with... pic.twitter.com/NYqTd5QYEi

While emphasizing that emergency reports are being responded to quickly, Özcan stated that some citizens are occupying the municipal call center with unnecessary requests. Özcan said, “Our teams are responding quickly and effectively to emergency calls reaching our call center so far.
Of course, I would like to take this opportunity to thank our municipal employees, as well as the General Directorate of Highways and public employees, for their efforts in this snow removal process.
We also have a request from our citizens. Snow is a blessing; it is already clear today that we will not face water shortages this year. However, they should not call and occupy our municipal call center with absurd demands such as, 'Have the firefighters go up to the roof and clean my satellite dish, we cannot watch Müge Anlı.'
May God grant this snowfall to other provinces in our Turkey that are suffering from water shortages.”
