According to the information obtained, the Kurtarma-7 and Kurtarma-9 tugboats belonging to the General Directorate of Coastal Safety were dispatched to the scene for the 114-meter-long tanker named "NAZAN," which experienced a rudder failure off Kandilli in the Istanbul Strait while en route from Russia to Kocaeli.

Vessel traffic in the Istanbul Strait has been temporarily suspended in both directions.

Intervention by teams from the General Directorate of Coastal Safety is ongoing.
