The Radio and Television Supreme Council (RTÜK) will hold a critical meeting today (December 28).
In the meeting, where numerous monitoring reports will be addressed, the series Kızıl Goncalar, which has been targeted by pro-government media and religious communities, will also be discussed.
SPORTS BROADCASTS ALSO ON THE AGENDA
In its meeting last week, the Supreme Council had adopted binding “Principle Decisions” regarding sports broadcasts following the incidents that occurred after the MKE Ankaragücü-Çaykur Rizespor match. Scrutinizing broadcasters that act contrary to these Principle Decisions, RTÜK will issue sanctions regarding comments in football programs that exceed the limits of criticism and statements that cast suspicion on individuals and institutions without any basis in information or documentation.
NEWS PROGRAMS AND MAIN NEWS BULLETINS WILL ALSO BE DISCUSSED
News programs that violate advertising rules, demean a segment of society, or contain comments that belittle the Republic of Turkey and its government will also be on RTÜK's agenda.
The Supreme Council will also examine films broadcast on digital platforms during the meeting.
