Tarsus Municipality announced that the furniture in Mayor Ali Boltaç's office was seized on the grounds that a debt of 10 million 800 thousand liras related to workers' severance pay had not been paid.

In a statement issued by the municipality, it was stated that officials from the Tarsus Enforcement Office, accompanied by a lawyer, took the items in the office into custody.

The statement, which noted that a request for a settlement regarding the debt was rejected, included the following: "The principal debt of Tarsus Municipality in the files is 5 million 476 thousand 400 liras, but the principal amount was maliciously increased to 10 million 800 thousand through enforcement proceedings. Considering that the municipality makes equal payments to all workers entitled to severance pay, the request to make payments in equal installments was not accepted, and enforcement proceedings were initiated."
