Tax paid by AKP's Hatipoğlu, who wears a 9 million lira watch, is falling

The tax amount paid to the state in 2024 by the company of AKP Eskişehir Deputy Nebi Hatipoğlu, who attended budget negotiations in the Turkish Grand National Assembly wearing an Audemars Piguet brand watch worth 214 thousand dollars (9 million 200 thousand TL), was recorded as 11 million 51 thousand 443 lira. Europen, a company owned by Hatipoğlu with a capital of 2.1 billion lira, employs 1,700 people.

According to the report by Sözcü, the amount of tax paid by the company was at a level close to the price of the watch worn by Hatipoğlu.

TAX FIGURES HAVE DECLINED

The company declared a tax base of 439 million 349 thousand 597 lira for 2024 and paid 11 million 51 thousand 443 lira in taxes on this amount. While the tax base reported in 2023 was 645 million 950 thousand 800 lira, the tax paid was announced as 18 million 335 thousand 442 TL. In 2022, 54 million 907 thousand lira in taxes were paid on a tax base of 441 million lira. The disclosed data revealed that the tax amounts paid have decreased over the years.

MILLION-DOLLAR SUPPORT HAD COME TO THE AGENDA

Before joining the AKP, Hatipoğlu, who received 50 million dollars (2.1 billion TL) in incentives from the state, had stated that his family company had achieved significant success in the field of exports. However, this picture was not reflected in the figures regarding the company's tax payments.
