A decision regarding a temporary solution for the administrative vacancy at the municipality in Bursa has been announced. It was reported that Bursa Deputy Governor Hulusi Doğan has been temporarily appointed to replace Mustafa Bozbey, who was arrested while serving as the Mayor of Bursa Metropolitan Municipality and subsequently removed from office by the Ministry of Interior, until a new acting mayor is elected.
In the letter signed by Governor Erol Ayyıldız and sent to various public institutions, it was emphasized that, citing Article 45 of the Municipal Law No. 5393, Hulusi Doğan has been authorized to ensure that municipal services are not disrupted until an acting mayor is determined.
Meanwhile, it was announced that the Bursa Metropolitan Municipal Council will convene on Tuesday, April 9, to hold the election for the acting mayor.
It is known that Bursa Mayor Mustafa Bozbey was detained in an operation conducted in the morning hours last week as part of an investigation carried out by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and was subsequently arrested. A suspension order had also been issued against Bozbey by the Ministry of Interior on April 4.
