Tension before Galatasaray-PAOK match

Incidents broke out between fans of the two teams before the match where Galatasaray hosted PAOK in the UEFA Europa League.

In the first week of the UEFA Europa League, Galatasaray faced the Greek team PAOK on their home turf.

Before the match, tension arose between Galatasaray fans and a group of Greek fans located among them.

A group of Greek fans, who came to RAMS Park as guests of the PAOK club, took their places in the West Lower Stand before the match. Galatasaray fans reacted to the Greek fans, who were chanting and making hand gestures. Following this, a verbal altercation occurred between the two groups.

After this altercation, police teams took security measures around the Greek group. As the tension continued, two individuals from the Greek group who had made hand gestures toward Galatasaray fans and initiated the tension were removed from the stands by law enforcement officers.

Following the events, the "İzmir March" was played over the stadium loudspeakers.
