Tense moments occurred between deputies at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM) during the budget negotiations for the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Treasury and Finance for 2026.
During an argument between the IYI Party benches and DEM Party deputies, IYI Party Adana Deputy Ayyüce Türkeş Taş and DEM Party Ağrı Deputy Sırrı Sakık confronted each other.
'HE WILL DIE AS A MURDERER'
The IYI Party did not appoint members to the commission established in Parliament as part of the process the government defines as a "Terror-Free Turkey," and had also reacted strongly in recent weeks to the AKP, MHP, and DEM Party deputies who visited the leader of the terrorist organization PKK, terrorist ringleader Abdullah Öcalan, on İmralı Island.
During the debate in the General Assembly today regarding the aforementioned process, Ayyüce Türkeş Taş entered into a polemic with the DEM Party benches. Referring to the demands for the release of terrorist ringleader Öcalan, Türkeş stated, "Murderer, murderer, murderer. He will die as a murderer."
