Tensions rise between the US and China: Additional customs move from China! Response from the US was swift

The response to US President Donald Trump's additional customs tariff policy was not delayed. The Chinese administration announced that as of April 10, the additional customs duty applied to products imported from the US will be increased to 84 percent. The decision was evaluated as a sign of a new tension that could shake global trade balances.

SWIFT RESPONSE FROM THE US TO THE RETALIATION

Following China's announcement, a swift response came from the US side. US Treasury Secretary Scott, in his assessment, said, "It is unfortunate that China is not willing to negotiate and has decided to impose tariffs. China may increase its tariffs, but so what? This is their loss. They should come and sit at the table."

The Trump administration had increased customs duties on China to 104 percent as of last week. President Trump argued that thanks to these tariffs, the US is earning 2 billion dollars daily.

CHINA SENT A MESSAGE THAT WE HAVE ALTERNATIVE WAYS

The Beijing administration, on the other hand, announced that they are prepared for the steps taken by the US. In a statement made by the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the phrase "We have sufficient tools to fight back against the US customs moves" was used.

Not only China, but also countries that could be alternative supply centers to China are in Washington's crosshairs. The US administration had imposed additional taxes on many Asian countries within the scope of its "reciprocal tariffs" policy.
