Terror at a private school in Sarıyer: School owner attacks principal with a gun
An armed attack at a preschool in Sarıyer, Istanbul, has shaken the education community. The suspect, who shot and wounded the principal following an argument, is in custody.

A horrific incident occurred yesterday morning at a private preschool located in the Yeniköy neighborhood of Istanbul's Sarıyer district. The 59-year-old school owner, C.O., allegedly resorted to using a firearm following a disagreement with the school's 36-year-old female principal, G.K. After a brief argument, the suspect shot the principal with a gun he was carrying, wounding her.
HEALTH AND SECURITY TEAMS RESPONDED IMMEDIATELY
Immediately after the sound of gunfire echoed through the preschool, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. After providing initial treatment at the school, medical teams transported the seriously wounded G.K. to the hospital by ambulance. No statement has yet been made regarding the principal's medical condition.
The perpetrator of the incident, school owner C.O., was apprehended by police teams in a short time along with the weapon used in the attack. It was learned that proceedings have been initiated against the suspect for "attempted intentional homicide" as well as "possession and carrying of an unlicensed firearm." It was stated that the suspect will be referred to the courthouse tomorrow following processing at the police station.
