Terror operation in Balıkesir: 2 arrests

In Balıkesir, 2 out of 6 suspects detained on allegations of being members of the terrorist organization PKK/KCK-PYD/YPG have been arrested.

The Balıkesir Provincial Police Department's Counter-Terrorism Branch teams have completed the processing of 6 suspects who were captured in an operation targeting individuals identified as sending reconnaissance, surveillance, coordinates, and photographs of areas belonging to security forces to those serving in the so-called intelligence unit of the terrorist organization PKK/KCK-PYD/YPG, based in Syria, to whom they were accountable.

Among the suspects, Syrian nationals H.E.C. and I.E.C. were arrested by the judgeship. The other 4 suspects were released.

The Balıkesir Provincial Police Department's Counter-Terrorism Branch teams had conducted an operation 5 days ago targeting the suspects identified as sending reconnaissance, surveillance, coordinates, and photographs of areas belonging to security forces to those serving in the so-called intelligence unit of the terrorist organization PKK/KCK-PYD/YPG, based in Syria, to whom they were accountable; during the operation, Syrian nationals N.E.A, M.E.A, H.E.C, Y.H.E.A, I.E.C., and E.E.A. were captured.

Additionally, 9 Syrian nationals who were found to be staying in a container at the paper sorting factory where the suspects resided and who were determined to have entered Turkey illegally were handed over to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management.
