Terror operation in Mersin: Deported

Mersin police identified an individual determined to have been involved in the Syrian branch of the terrorist organization PKK and apprehended them in an operation. The captured suspect has been deported.

According to the information received, teams from the Provincial Security Directorate's Counter-Terrorism and Intelligence Branch conducted coordinated work to uncover the activities of the terrorist organization PKK/KCK-YPG-PYD. During the teams' investigation, a suspect identified as A.A., who was active within the terrorist organization's Syrian structure, was identified. Following this, an operation was carried out at the individual's address in the central Akdeniz district.

A.A. was apprehended during the operation, and digital materials were seized during a search of the address.

The suspect was deported following the completion of the procedures.
