According to the report by Gazete Duvar, the surgery took place between the first visit by İmralı Delegation members Pervin Buldan and Sırrı Süreyya Önder on December 28 and their second visit on January 22. During the second meeting, the delegation was informed that Öcalan had undergone cataract surgery on one of his eyes.
While it was stated that the surgery was performed in İmralı, it was learned that Öcalan is also planned to undergo surgery on his other eye.
