Terrorist neutralized in operation revealed to be bodyguard of PKK's Murat Karayılan
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced in a post on his X account that one of the two terrorist organization members neutralized during the Kahramanlar-32 operation on December 4 was the bodyguard of Murat Karayılan, a member of the terrorist organization's so-called executive council.

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya made statements regarding the 2 members of the terrorist organization who were neutralized during the Kahramanlar-32 operation on December 4.
Yerlikaya stated the following:
"Under the coordination of the Gendarmerie General Command Intelligence Department, 2 members of the terrorist organization who were being tracked by the Mardin Provincial Gendarmerie Command in the rural area of Alayurt neighborhood in the Dargeçit district of Mardin province were neutralized during the Kahramanlar-32 operation on December 4.
DNA testing of the unidentified terrorist among those neutralized revealed him to be Herekol Hezex (codenamed) Yunus Aras. It was also determined that this terrorist served as a bodyguard for Murat Karayılan, a member of the terrorist organization's so-called executive council, in northern Iraq in 2019.
It was determined that the treacherous terrorist Herekol Hezex (codenamed) Yunus Aras participated in 4 attacks in which 4 of our security personnel were martyred and 15 of our security personnel were wounded.

The IED attack in the Gabar Mountain region of Şırnak province on April 4, 2017, in which Gendarmerie Specialist Corporal Mehmet Yavşan, Gendarmerie Specialist Sergeant Yunus Ertürk, and Gendarmerie Specialist Sergeant Ufuk Bingöl were martyred and 9 of our security personnel were wounded; the armed attack in the Görmeç Base area of Gabar Mountain in Şırnak province on May 5, 2017, in which Tank Specialist Sergeant Musa Vuruşkan was martyred and 2 of our security personnel were wounded; the IED attack in the Gabar Mountain region of Şırnak province on January 8, 2018, in which 1 of our security personnel was wounded; and the armed attack in the Gabar Mountain region of Şırnak province on February 23, 2018, in which 3 of our security personnel were wounded, have been identified."
