Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, who shared information about the matter on the X platform, stated the following:
"At 10:30 today, our Interpol/Europol Department was contacted by phone by officials from the Russian Interpol Unit, who conveyed the information that 'a Russian national named Evgenii Serebriakov carried out a terrorist attack with a car bomb in Moscow, that 2 people were injured as a result of the attack, and that the individual had arrived in our country on a Moscow-Bodrum flight.'
As a result of the investigations conducted:
- It was determined that the individual entered through Bodrum Airport at 09:40,
- That he was not recognized as he was not in the Interpol International Wanted Persons Database (e-ASF) records,
- And that he had no active UYAP (National Judiciary Informatics System) record.
Regarding the matter, necessary coordination was established by the Intelligence Presidency and the Interpol/Europol Department with the MIT Presidency, the Presidency of Migration Management, the Counter-Terrorism Department, and the Muğla Provincial Police Department, and the individual, who matched the identity information and photographs provided in the letter received from the Russian INTERPOL Unit, was captured today in Bodrum by our Muğla Provincial Police Department units.

Evgenii Serebriakov, who was taken into custody, and 1 other person accompanying him were brought to Bodrum State Hospital in the evening hours. The 2 individuals, who were brought to the hospital under tight security measures, were sent to Muğla after undergoing a medical examination.
