Celebrating the May 1st Labor and Solidarity Day for all workers, TESK President Bendevi Palandöken has released a written message.
Emphasizing that tradesmen and craftsmen, who sweat day and night, are representatives of labor, Palandöken included the following statements in his message:
"May 1st is an important day when we celebrate the rights and achievements of the working class worldwide. This important day is significant for our tradesmen and craftsmen not only for reinforcing feelings of unity and solidarity but also for improving working conditions and protecting rights. Indeed, all our employees hold a very important place in the development of our country with their labor and sweat. Respect for labor and workers' rights is an indispensable element of democratic culture. The path to economic development, increasing our national income, and reaching more prosperous days as a society lies in observing the rights and laws of our employees. Ensuring the occupational health and safety of our employees, combating informal employment, and increasing women's employment will be possible through the cooperation of the worker and employer sectors. With these feelings and thoughts, on behalf of our tradesmen and craftsmen, I celebrate the May 1st Labor and Solidarity Day of all workers and hope that this year's May 1st celebrations will serve to strengthen peace and brotherhood by increasing solidarity."
