Testimony of Ali Kaya, brother of Dilek İmamoğlu, revealed: 'They said it was unnecessary'

21 people, including Ali Kaya, the brother of Dilek İmamoğlu, the wife of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor and CHP presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu, were detained on February 4.

A decision was made to arrest 13 people, including Ali Kaya, who were referred to the duty Criminal Court of Peace by the prosecutor's office with a request for arrest. 8 people were released under various judicial control measures.

ALI KAYA'S TESTIMONY BEFORE THE JUDGE REVEALED

Ali Kaya, who was brought before the Criminal Court of Peace, stated in his defense: "I am innocent. I am here because of a slander handed to someone by a woman I do not know, a woman I have never seen in my life."

Denying the drug allegations against him, Kaya defended himself by saying, "In my entire life, I have never consumed any narcotic substance. I provided samples for this, and while the samples were being taken, I requested that nail and hair samples be taken by the Council of Forensic Medicine, but they said, 'It is unnecessary'."

"MY REPUTATION HAS BEEN DESTROYED ON SOCIAL MEDIA"

Stating that he does not accept the accusations against him, Kaya continued his defense as follows:

"I am already standing before you to be sent to prison as someone whose reputation has been destroyed on social media, in the eyes of my family, in my business circle, and in the eyes of my friends for the past 3 days due to these slanders. While my reputation is being dragged through the mud, now my freedom is being taken away. I do not accept the accusation; I request to be released, at least until the results come out, even if it is under judicial control conditions. As a Turk, I believe I have this right."

NAMES ARRESTED

The court decided to arrest Ali Kaya, Bahadır Gürceer, Ercan Gümüşkaya, Kaan Kalyon, Rüştü Berk Akardaş, Sinan Urfalı, and Şeyhmus Tatlıcı on charges of "facilitating the use of narcotic substances," and Damla Kütük, Ceylin Aydemir, Fatma Gül Derbeder, Gaye Kıray, Gökay Kalaycıoğlu, and Melis Yürür on charges of "encouraging, procuring, or mediating prostitution, or providing a place for it."

8 PEOPLE RELEASED

The court ruled that Aylin Doğru Çelik, Barış Çalık, Ezgi Helin Yıldız, Sevcan Güler, Hasan Koray Şahin, Vakıf Serter Varol, İmren Öztürk, and Mertcan Alioğlu be released under judicial control conditions.
