Testimony of taxi driver who helped Ayşe Tokyaz's murder suspect revealed: 'I will ask for it back in 15 days'
The testimony of a taxi driver, who was among 6 people accused of assisting Cemil Koç—the man who murdered university student Ayşe Tokyaz in Istanbul's Küçükçekmece district, placed her in a suitcase, and left it by the roadside in Eyüpsultan—has been revealed. Koç has since been arrested by the court. In his statement, the suspect said, "If I had known that what Cemil referred to when he said 'there is something in the vehicle' was a corpse, I definitely would not have done it."

Seven people were referred to the courthouse after being detained in connection with the murder of university student Ayşe Tokyaz (22), whose body was found in a suitcase by the roadside in Eyüpsultan after she was killed in Istanbul's Küçükçekmece district. Cemil Koç was arrested by the Duty Magistrate's Court on charges of 'premeditated murder,' while the other 6 suspects were sent to prison on charges of 'aiding in premeditated murder.'
DETAILS OF THE TESTIMONY GIVEN TO THE PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE REVEALED
While the investigation into the murder continues, suspect Cemil Koç had previously testified to the prosecutor's office. In his statement, Koç said, "Ayşe and I were serious. We had performed a religious marriage ceremony. Ayşe would use drugs from time to time. On the day of the incident, when I kissed her, I smelled drugs. I told her she shouldn't use them and I would constantly warn her.
While I was going downstairs from the second floor of the duplex house to prepare appetizers for her, I heard a noise. When I went to her, Ayşe was in a sitting position and had hit her head against the wall. I picked her up and laid her on the sofa; she was dead.
After her body cooled down, I called Oğuz K. I picked up Oğuz with my vehicle. I was the one who put the body in the suitcase; he was not involved. Afterwards, we went to a gas station with the vehicle, and while we were talking about what to do, he must have gotten scared and betrayed me.
I got scared too and went to a tavern to think. I called Necmettin and said, 'There is something troublesome in the suitcase, we need to bury it, I will take it back later, do not open it or look inside,'" he said.
TESTIMONY OF THE TAXI DRIVER WHO AGREED TO THE JOB FOR 500 THOUSAND LIRA REACHED
The testimony given to the prosecutor's office by taxi driver Necmettin E., whom murder suspect Cemil Koç contacted to dispose of the body and with whom he agreed for 500 thousand lira, has also been revealed.
Suspect Necmettin E. said in his statement, "Cemil did not mention any problem with his car to me; he said, 'There is something in my car, hide this, I will ask for it back in 15 days.' He offered 100 thousand lira each to 3 people, including me. I later contacted someone named Barış for this job.
Barış parked his vehicle next to Cemil's parked car. While I was sitting in my taxi, I opened the trunk door. They took the suitcase from the trunk and put it in the vehicle. While leaving the scene, Barış called me and said, 'There is blood and a smell in the trunk.'
I told him, 'This job is risky, it's beyond us.' If I had known that what Cemil referred to when he said 'there is something in the vehicle' was a corpse, I definitely would not have done it," he said.
