While the allegations made by CHP Chairman Özgür Özel regarding the assets of Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek remain on the agenda, D.A., a technician working at the Antalya Kaş Land Registry Office who queried Gürlek's land registry records, has been taken into custody.

According to reports by İHA, D.A. stated in his testimony to the gendarmerie that he queried Minister Gürlek's land registry records at the insistence of a person named Ayşegül, whom he met on social media.

Stating that he reached 4 separate land registry records as a result of the query, D.A. said that he sent this information to the person in question via message.

According to information reflected in the investigation file, it was learned that the unauthorized queries were carried out on February 13, 2026, February 20, 2026, and February 23, 2026. In his testimony, D.A. said, "I realized later that I had been deceived. I did not knowingly get involved in such a crime. I want to benefit from the provisions of effective remorse. I did not consciously take part in any conspiracy against our Minister of Justice."

D.A. also stated that he thought Özgür Özel's remarks regarding Minister Gürlek were not true and were slander. According to the information obtained, it was learned that Ayşegül K., to whom D.A. allegedly shared the information, had a prior criminal record for the crime of "unlawfully obtaining personal data."

While 3 public officials who performed real person queries regarding Minister of Justice Akın Gürlek have been suspended by the General Directorate of Land Registry and Cadastre, it was learned that the investigation is ongoing.
