The Press Crimes Investigation Bureau of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office had launched an investigation into a video titled 'Social Engineering Academy' published on the account of social media influencer Taylan Özgüç Danyıldız, known as 'Testo Taylan', over allegations that it featured humiliating and obscene behavior toward women under the guise of a 'social experiment'.
Within the scope of the investigation, it was alleged that these behaviors were presented as ordinary and acceptable actions in the eyes of society, thereby creating a perception conducive to the normalization of the degradation of women and harassment against them. Furthermore, it was claimed that some content included images and behaviors of an obscene nature that could damage public morality, and that this content was disseminated to large audiences through social media platforms.
As part of the investigation, suspect Danyıldız, for whom a detention warrant had been issued, was taken into custody in Kocaeli, while suspects Y.H. and U.U. were taken into custody in Istanbul on charges of 'inciting the public to hatred and enmity or insulting' and 'obscenity'. Y.H. and U.U., who were referred to the courthouse yesterday, were arrested by the duty magistrate's court.
ARREST DECISION
Suspect Danyıldız was referred to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan today after the completion of his procedures at the police station. After giving his statement to the prosecutor, suspect Danyıldız was arrested by the duty magistrate's court on charges of 'publicly inciting hatred and enmity'.
