Thanks to Haluk Levent for Gaza
Tom Fletcher, the United Nations (UN) Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, has thanked Haluk Levent, who announced that he would donate the proceeds of his concert to the Gaza relief fund.

In a post on his X account, Fletcher quoted Haluk Levent's message from February 14, in which he stated that he "will give a concert in Istanbul on April 30 and donate all its proceeds to the UN's Gaza relief fund."
In his post, where he tagged the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in the occupied Palestinian territory (OCHA OPT), Fletcher said, "Thank you, Haluk Levent, for using your voice and platform to support the humanitarian fund established by OCHA OPT to support the people of Gaza."
Artist Haluk Levent had announced that he would donate all the proceeds from the concert he will give in Istanbul on April 30 to the UN's Gaza relief fund.
Levent had stated, "As a singer, I believe it is my duty to help Palestinians in need. If we act together, we can achieve much more. I encourage my fellow singers around the world to join me in supporting those in need, especially in Gaza."
EMPHASIS ON "GAZA BELONGS TO THE PEOPLE OF GAZA"
Levent, who recently founded the non-governmental organization Ahbap America in the US, had held meetings at the United Nations.
In his statement, Levent said, "Unfortunately, Donald Trump recently made a statement that deeply hurt us all. 'Gaza will be emptied and America will settle there.' This is something that would cause outrage even if it were said a century ago, but perhaps Trump tried to say this with his own power. I requested a meeting with the directors at the United Nations, especially those dealing with the Palestinian issue."
Haluk Levent stated that in this meeting, he said that concerts would be held in Istanbul and Europe as well, and that he wanted the proceeds of these concerts to be transferred to Gaza, and noted the following:
"They also supported (this idea). I am a person who sometimes criticizes the United Nations very harshly. It is in my tweets as well. However, we need to make our voices heard internationally on this issue. As an artist, as a musician, I am trying to do my best. At the very least, I do not want to tell my grandchildren, 'I did nothing.' I deeply feel the pain of the people of Gaza there. I am also trying to reach popular artists in other countries and ensure they give concerts."
Emphasizing that the only thing to be said about the Palestinian issue is "Gaza belongs to the people of Gaza," Haluk Levent had said, "The money that will come from the concert is already a very small amount for the people of Gaza. But this is a symbolic situation. Actually, this is a discourse. That is why I invite everyone to this concert. It will be in Istanbul on April 30."
