The anticipated visit has taken place

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş visited İYİ Party Chairwoman Meral Akşener. The visit at the İYİ Party Headquarters lasted approximately half an hour. In his statement following the visit, Mayor Mansur Yavaş said that he had conveyed the greetings and best wishes of CHP Chairman Özgür Özel to İYİ Party Chairwoman Akşener.

Yavaş stated, "I do not know whether there will be any developments regarding the future. In terms of content, I was not in a position to request anything either. Because, ultimately, the parties have their own authorized bodies. I only conveyed that, and afterwards, I suppose they will make a statement if the party bodies deem it necessary."

When asked by a journalist, "Did Akşener make any assessment regarding supporting you?" Yavaş replied, "It was a courtesy visit. I did not enter into those topics at all. I do not have such authority, nor do I have the authority to make such a request. I only conveyed the greetings of the newly elected chairman." Upon being asked whether CHP Chairman Özel would meet with Akşener, Yavaş said, "I suppose they will inform the public if they decide to do so themselves."
