The behind-the-scenes of the mediator proposal presented to Özgür Özel revealed! 'Kemal Bey approved it...'

CHP Chairman Özgür Özel had previously revealed in journalist Fatih Altaylı's program that he had received an offer from the party management during the process of his separation from the CHP.

Özel had stated, "A mediator friend came and said, 'Kemal Bey is close to this offer. You stay here, let him be the chairman. When the day comes, Kemal Bey will become a member of parliament and then Speaker of the Parliament in the elections.' After he becomes Speaker of the Parliament, I will become the chairman after the elections. Is it possible for me to accept such a thing!"

CHP Elazığ Deputy Gürsel Erol confirmed the "mediator" statement by CHP leader Özgür Özel that has been on the public agenda. Erol said that they conveyed the proposal, which was prepared with the knowledge of Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, to Özel, but that the offer was not accepted.

GÜRSEL EROL: I PRESENTED THE OFFER

Participating in a live broadcast on TV100, CHP Elazığ Deputy Gürsel Erol confirmed the offer in question and said that the initiative was his own proposal.

Regarding the process, Erol said, "This was my personal thought. We visited Mr. Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu with Mr. Ali Öztunç. I brought my proposal. I said, 'Can we go to Mr. Özgür with an offer after getting your approval?'"

THE FORMULA KILIÇDAROĞLU APPROVED

Erol described the formula he proposed in his meeting with Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu with the following words:

"I said, 'Stay at the head of the party until the general election and continue your duty as chairman. Let Mr. Özgür continue as the party's group chairman. You stay at the headquarters, and let's give the task of managing this excitement and hope on the streets to Mr. Özgür.'

I said, 'Become a member of parliament from Çankaya after the election, and if the arithmetic in the Parliament is suitable, let's make you Speaker of the Parliament. In this process, Mr. Özgür could be an alternative presidential candidate if Mr. Mansur's candidacy does not happen, or even if not, he would become the party's chairman after the election.' Kemal Bey approved."

ÖZEL DID NOT ACCEPT THE OFFER

Gürsel Erol stated that they later conveyed the prepared proposal to Özgür Özel but did not receive a positive response.

Erol recounted what happened during the meeting with the following expressions:

"Mr. Özgür Özel said, 'If I accept this, I would be accepting both the court decision and the legitimacy of the chairman.' I said, 'Kemal Bey is already the chairman legally.' Mr. Özgür said, 'There is only one way for this business'; he said, 'We can make him a member of parliament, we can consider the Deputy Speakership of the Parliament, but he must convene the convention as soon as possible and leave the chairmanship.'"

THE MEETING REMAINED INCONCLUSIVE

Erol said that Özgür Özel argued that the convention should be convened and the chairmanship duty should be left, and that he did not look favorably upon the proposed formula.

Erol described the final part of the meeting with these words:

"He said that Kılıçdaroğlu could be made a member of parliament, that the Deputy Speakership of the Parliament could be considered, but that the convention must be convened and he must leave the chairmanship. I said, 'That is already the problem.' Finally, Mr. Özgür said, 'If we enter the election with this formula, we won't get 10% of the vote.' Özgür Özel conveyed to us that the offer was not suitable, and we closed the subject by expressing to Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu that the meeting went negatively and we could not get results."
