President and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's protection costs for the first 7 months of the year have been revealed.
According to information in the financial statements of the General Directorate of Security, the Presidential Protection Department, to which the presidential bodyguards are attached, spent 1 billion 353 million 702 thousand TL in the first seven months of the year. This amount was reported as 583 million 491 thousand TL in the same period last year. President Erdoğan's daily protection cost reached 6 million 446 thousand TL, which corresponds to the minimum wage of 379 people.
Accordingly, the money spent on the protection detail in the first seven months of the year is equivalent to 108 thousand 240 pension payments. Furthermore, this amount is equal to the monthly salary of 79 thousand 588 minimum wage earners.
