The Daltons declare war on that country: 'No one will be able to pour water on this fire'
The organized crime group known as the Daltons has claimed responsibility for an armed attack on the Iraqi Consulate in Istanbul following the capture of one of its leaders, Ahmet Mustafa Timo, in Iraq and his subsequent handover to Turkey. While the consulate building was fired upon with long-barreled weapons, members of the organization made threatening posts on social media targeting the Iraqi government and security forces following the attack.

The supplementary indictment prepared on May 4 regarding the Dalton criminal organization includes striking information about one of the group's leaders, Ahmet Mustafa Timo, known by the nickname 'Timocan'.
The indictment states that Timo fled to Georgia illegally, where he maintained contact with organization members and issued various instructions for operations. It was noted that Timo, who faced attempted attacks from other criminal groups in Georgia, later moved to Iraq, where he was taken into custody.
It was recorded that as part of an operation carried out by the National Intelligence Organization (MİT) on March 20, 2025, Timo was taken into custody from Iraqi authorities in Şırnak and subsequently transferred to the Istanbul Organized Crime Investigation Bureau.
IRAQI CONSULATE SPRAYED WITH LONG-BARRELED WEAPONS
While Ahmet Mustafa Timo was in custody, an armed attack was carried out on the Iraqi Consulate located in Esentepe, Istanbul, on March 21 at approximately 9:30 PM.
According to information reported by Ayça Söylemez from BirGün, one of the two attackers, who arrived on a motorcycle and were wearing helmets, opened fire on the consulate building with an AK-47 long-barreled weapon. It was stated that the other attacker recorded the moment of the attack with a mobile phone camera.
It was learned that a total of 6 shots were fired at the consulate building, and there were no deaths or injuries in the attack.
ATTACKERS HAD AN ACCIDENT WHILE FLEEING
It was reported that the suspects alleged to have carried out the attack, Ömer Ç. and Sehat El F., fled the scene on a motorcycle but were captured shortly after crashing.
The long-barreled weapon used in the attack and the motorcycle were seized by police teams.
Investigations revealed that the two suspects had stayed in a villa in Silivri prior to the attack. Other suspects linked to the incident were reportedly detained at the Trump Apart hotel in Şişli.
"REVENGE" MESSAGES SHARED ON SOCIAL MEDIA
Following the attack, some fugitive members of the organization, who are said to be abroad, made posts on their social media accounts targeting Iraqi authorities.
Mustafa Aktürk, one of the fugitive members, claimed in a post that Ahmet Mustafa Timo was "brought across the Turkish border illegally in a Turkish consulate vehicle," adding, "The retaliation for this will be severe."
In another post, Aktürk stated, "Even if you take not 12 people, but 12,000, we will still do what we have to do. Those who know us know this well. Whether it be on the streets or through diplomatic channels, we will not let this go."
"NO ONE WILL BE ABLE TO POUR WATER ON THIS FIRE ANYMORE"
Fugitive organization member Muhammed Ali Çınar also targeted the Iraqi government and security units in a social media post.
In his post, Çınar claimed that Ahmet Mustafa Timo was handed over "illegally" without a red notice being issued against him, stating, "Let the dishonorable Iraqi government and other security units that sold our brother to MIT forces for money know that from this hour on, no one will be able to pour water on this fire."
