The feud between Cübbeli Ahmet and Egemen Bağış shows no signs of stopping! 'For the sake of your worthless reputation...'
The war of words between Ahmet Mahmut Ünlü, known as Cübbeli Ahmet, and former Ambassador to Prague Egemen Bağış continues. Ünlü has issued a harsh response to Bağış's 'fireproof shroud salesman' remark.

Egemen Bağış has not been appointed to a new position since being removed from his post as Ambassador to Prague last year. Most recently, Bağış made headlines when Bilal Erdoğan did not shake his hand at the funeral of Chief Presidential Advisor Yiğit Bulut; following this incident, he was targeted by Cübbeli Ahmet.
In a statement made on social media, Ünlü praised Bilal Erdoğan for not shaking Bağış's hand and recalled the phrase 'pious and vengeful.' Ünlü stated, 'Not everyone should have been a sycophant; some should have held onto the grudge of their religion.'
BAĞIŞ'S RESPONSE WAS SWIFT
Egemen Bağış responded to Ünlü's remarks via social media. Referencing the words of Rumi, Bağış said, 'My silence is due to my nobility' and continued his criticism by alluding to certain past events involving Ünlü. Bağış used the phrases, 'Those who are allergic to science, who are prejudiced, and who are peddlers of fireproof shrouds will object once again' in his remarks.

NEW STATEMENTS FROM ÜNLÜ
Following Bağış's statements, Ünlü fueled the debate further with a new post on his social media account. Addressing Bağış, Ünlü asked, 'If I was a shroud salesman, did you need a shroud?' and claimed that Bağış had made several attempts to reconcile with him.
Cübbeli Ahmet's post is as follows:
'Oh Egemen! If I was a shroud salesman, did you need a shroud that you involved the late Medîneli Ali Efendi three times to reconcile with me?'
'Then you went to the İsmailağa Foundation; even though you mocked the Surah Al-Baqarah, they hosted you with tea and coffee and asked me to 'meet and reconcile,' but I could not sell out the Surah Al-Baqarah for the sake of your worthless reputation.'
'There is much more to say, but since it would not suit me to speak below the belt, and also because there are many partners in that business and I think I would become a target, I do not find it appropriate to disclose other attributes at this moment.'
'Instead of denying that audio recording and calling it a montage, come out and say: 'Mocking the Surah Al-Baqarah is apostasy, but I have renewed my faith and renewed my marriage,' declare your repentance, and then no one will bother you.'
Let us say, 'Whether or not your repentance is accepted is up to God; the statements of people are what matter,' and close the subject. However, as long as you continue to attribute this to a montage and keep trying to deceive the public by treating them like fools, you will never find any support from us.
Then I remembered; at the Shah-i Naqshband Symposium belonging to the Hudayi Community, you tried hard to come right next to me, but I had previously placed Murat Soydan Hodja in between to prevent you from sitting next to me, and I took great care not to make eye contact with you. If I wasn't a man of character or was a shroud salesman, why did you make so many attempts to meet with me?!
Now, of course, you can deny all of this, but the truth is clear; everyone knows that I do not lie. If I sold those shrouds and profited from them, may God not grant me a shroud; if you are lying, may God not grant you a shroud. Amen!"
Oh Egemen! If I was a shroud salesman, did you need a shroud that you involved the late Medineli Ali Efendi three times to make peace with me?
