In Antalya, a good deed by a public bus driver has become a source of trouble for him. After he found wallets full of money on his public bus and returned them to their owners, his reaction through the news to a 'Are you an idiot?' comment made on social media effectively ruined his life.
Barış Özer, who appears on almost the entire first page when 'idiot driver' is typed as a keyword into Google, said, "I don't want to say what that word is, because the more I say it, the more it multiplies."
A VICTIM OF GOOGLE'S KEYWORDS
Barış Özer, who was subjected to the 'Are you an idiot?' comment after returning wallets containing foreign currency and Turkish lira that had been dropped or forgotten on his public bus in Antalya at different times 5 years ago, became a victim of Google's keywords because he reacted to the person who made the negative comment through the press.
Özer, who appears in the first result when 'idiot driver' is typed into Google, said, "Because I returned items I found on the bus to their owners, I appear in the Google search engine in a way I don't want to name due to the bad comments made on social media. We reacted, and this time it multiplied even more. I still come up. I want this grievance to be resolved. I don't want to say what that word is, because the more I say it, the more it multiplies."
Calling out to Google, Özer said, "Google, I am a smart driver. We did a human act; there shouldn't be negative comments about this. I want to appear as a smart, honest, and conscientious driver. Whenever any topic related to the word I don't want to say comes up, they send me messages."
