Sözcü columnist Saygı Öztürk described the seizure that took place at a citizen's home in the Dikili district of İzmir.
Öztürk wrote, “You know how people say 'They took everything down to our underwear' when someone is stripped of everything they have. It is no joke; we learned that even the citizen's underwear, a kilo of granulated sugar found in the house, and even a tea glass were seized.”
'A POOR PERSON'S HOME HAS BEEN SEIZED'
Öztürk shared the following details:
“In the state-owned ilan.gov.tr website, there is even a package of granulated sugar among the items seized and put up for sale. Not only that, but headscarves, clothes hangers, a small kitchen gas cylinder, hats, and decorative flowers are also striking in terms of showing the situation our citizen is in. In other words, a poor person's home has been seized. Besides these, when you read in the announcement that items such as a wardrobe containing underwear and clothes, a coal stove, a plastic stool, tulle curtains, a runner rug, a tea glass, a pitcher, a plastic water bottle, and napkins were also seized, you say, 'This is just too much.'”
