The impact of the NEW Party on the seating plan and committees in the Grand National Assembly of Turkey! CHP's place in the General Assembly has been determined

With the NEW Party, founded by 90 deputies who left the CHP along with Özgür Özel, becoming the second-largest group in the TBMM, changes will be made in many areas, from the seating plan in Parliament to the distribution of committees. Group rooms, meeting halls, seating arrangements, and representation ratios will be reshaped according to the new distribution of deputies.

GROUP ROOMS TO BE REORGANIZED

The NEW Party, which has 91 deputies, will continue to use the group management rooms and the large group meeting hall previously used by the CHP. New group rooms and a meeting hall will be allocated for the CHP, whose number of deputies has decreased to 44.

GROUP CHAIR AND GROUP DEPUTY CHAIRS TO BE DETERMINED IN CHP

Since Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu is not a deputy, the CHP will need to appoint a separate group chair and two group deputy chairs. While it is anticipated that at least three rooms will be allocated for the party management, it is expected that four official vehicles will be allocated to the CHP if a clerk membership is granted in the Presidential Council.

SEATING ROWS IN THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY ARE CHANGING

According to the Türkiye newspaper, the seating plan in the General Assembly will also be recreated based on the number of deputies. Accordingly, the NEW Party, as the second-largest party, will be located next to the AKP group. The CHP is planned to be positioned next to the MHP rows.

REPRESENTATION IN COMMITTEES TO BE RECALCULATED

Due to the change in the number of deputies, representation ratios in specialized committees and the Presidential Council will also be redetermined.

In this context, while it is expected that the NEW Party will obtain one Deputy Speakership of the Parliament, it is foreseen that the CHP will be represented by a clerk member in the Presidential Council.

DURATION OF PARLIAMENTARY WORK MAY BE EXTENDED

With the number of political party groups in the TBMM rising to 7, group proposals, off-agenda speeches, and the time allocated to group deputy chairs will also increase. It is stated that this situation may affect the time allocated for the discussion of legislative proposals and that legislative work may begin later than in the previous period.

On the other hand, the day and time the NEW Party will hold its group meeting will also be determined by the Parliamentary administration. The regulations are expected to be finalized at the Presidential Council meeting to be held next week.
