The AKP, which suffered a defeat in the March 31 Local Elections and fell to the position of the second party in Turkey for the first time since its founding, saw the decline in its vote share continue for some time.
According to a report by Gazete Duvar based on AKP sources, it is claimed that the AKP, whose vote share had fallen to 30 percent in polls, has recovered and increased its votes in the last few months.
"OUR VOTE SHARE HAS RETURNED TO 35 PERCENT"
An AKP executive who said, "There is not just a rise in the polls, there is a leap," stated that they have now returned to their local election vote share (35 percent) and that they see the rise continuing in 2025 polls.
Arguing that belief in the economic program is increasing, AKP sources noted that the opposition's lack of credibility and recent developments in Syria played an important role in the increase in vote share.
An AKP official said, "The Syria issue has affected us very positively. You will see, it will reflect very well in the polls."
Meanwhile, there are also comments that if the expected increases in the minimum wage and pension raises do not materialize, this could negatively affect the polls. However, the assessment made within the AKP regarding this situation was, "We cannot compromise on the economic program for our future. We will not fall back in the polls, but our rise might slow down a bit."
