As part of a drug investigation initiated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, 19 famous figures were taken from their homes on the morning of October 8 to provide statements and have blood samples collected. Birce Akalay was among those released that same evening.
As reported by Anadolu Agency yesterday evening, drug substances were detected in the blood of eight celebrities. These individuals included Dilan Polat, Derin Talu, Deren Talu, Birsen Berrak Tüzünataç, Birce Akalay, Kubilay Aka, Metin Akdülger, and Kaan Yıldırım. On the other hand, the test results for Duygu Özaslan Mutaf, Demet Evgar Babataş, Mert Yazıcıoğlu, Zeynep Meriç Aral, Ceren Moray Orcan, Hadise Açıkgöz, and Özge Özpirinçci Yamantürk came back clean.

Birce Akalay learned her test result while watching the Euroleague match between Anadolu Efes and Panathinaikos. After receiving phone calls during the match, Akalay went backstage and announced the situation through a statement on her social media account.
"THERE IS MISINFORMATION"
In a statement on her Instagram account, Akalay noted that the investigation is under a confidentiality order and that no documents have reached her or her lawyer.
'I would like to remind you that the investigation in question is under a confidentiality order, and that even my lawyer and I do not have access to the file, and no documents or information have been conveyed to us.
I would like to emphasize that some reports published on various news channels are intended for disinformation, that the substances appearing in the published list are only related to the antidepressants and painkillers I use regularly, and most importantly, that I have never used the prohibited substance listed in my life.'
I submit for your information that we will object to the alleged Forensic Medicine report (if it is indeed accurate) through my lawyer as soon as possible regarding these matters about which I am confident.'
