The mystery unveiled after 19 years: Biological father revealed as the perpetrator of the femicide

The gendarmerie, which reopened the case of 29-year-old Sultan Aydın—whose lifeless body was found with a broken neck in the Porsuk Stream after she went missing in Eskişehir in 2007—has reached a shocking truth. As a result of a meticulous investigation conducted by a special team, it was revealed that the unfortunate woman was murdered by her own father, Süleyman Aydın, due to "rumors."

The murder case, which had been sitting on the shelves as a "cold case" for 19 years in the Beylikova district of Eskişehir, was pulled back down upon the instructions of the Eskişehir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. The special JASAT (Gendarmerie Criminal Investigation Team) established within the Provincial Gendarmerie Command began re-examining all past clues and testimonies from the very beginning.

CONFESSIONS OF THE SISTERS SOLVED THE KNOT

Within the scope of the new investigation into the 2007 death of Sultan Aydın, who worked as a seasonal agricultural worker, the testimonies of the unfortunate woman's two sisters were taken. The sisters' confessions to the gendarmerie shed light on the murder that had remained in the dark:

"Rumors of an Affair with the Landowner's Son": In their statements, the sisters explained that rumors had circulated about Sultan Aydın having an affair with the son of the owner of the field where she worked as a seasonal laborer, and that their father, Süleyman Aydın, had decided to execute her based on these rumors.

Crime Scene Identified: Following these statements, which changed the course of the investigation, the two sisters showed the gendarmerie teams the exact spot where their sister was killed by their father, conducting a "site identification."

JASAT PROVED IT WITH EVIDENCE: PERPETRATOR IDENTIFIED

Based on the sisters' statements, the JASAT teams conducted an in-depth analysis of the geographical data, witness testimonies, and forensic reports from that period. As a result of the research conducted and evidence collected, it was definitively determined that Sultan Aydın was indeed murdered by her own father, Süleyman Aydın, by having her neck broken, and was subsequently thrown into the Porsuk Stream.

THE KILLER FATHER COULD NOT ESCAPE JUSTICE BUT DID NOT SEE PRISON

In the honor/custom-based murder case solved after 19 years, the truth about the prime suspect, who was planned to be brought before justice, emerged later. It was determined that the father, Süleyman Aydın, who brutally murdered his daughter, passed away in 2022.

While the case is expected to be dropped due to the death of the suspect father, the prosecutor's office is continuing a comprehensive, multi-faceted investigation into whether there were any other suspects who incited or assisted in the crime.
