You never know what you might come across. While browsing through a second-hand bookstore, I stumbled upon an album. Since I enjoy looking at old photos, I started flipping through it.
A thin man with a mustache in the photos caught my attention. Upon closer inspection, I realized this person was former MİT Undersecretary Emre Taner. I was even more excited... The album I was looking at belonged to a deceased MİT personnel. Because they had no surviving relatives, their belongings ended up with a paper collector and were eventually distributed to second-hand bookstores.
Who wasn't in this album, which contained important photos related to Turkey's recent history; Emre Taner, Miktad Alpay, Nuri Gündeş, Süleyman Seba, Şenkal Atasagun, Cevat Öneş, Sönmez Köksal, Fuat Doğu...
From what I understand from the photos, the deceased person joined the organization during the Fuat Doğu era as part of the steps taken to civilianize MİT.
From the photos, I gather that this person did not get involved in the factionalism within MİT that was frequently reflected in the press at the time. Their intimate photos with both Emre Taner and Şenkal Atasagun show this. However, it was also noteworthy that there were no one-on-one photos with Hiram Abas and Mehmet Eymür.
Here are those photos...
