The reason for the postponement of the reconciliation commission meeting has been revealed! CHP's Murat Emir explained

The National Solidarity, Brotherhood and Democracy Commission, established in the TBMM for the second reconciliation process—architected by MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli and referred to by the government as 'Terror-Free Turkey,' which involves the DEM Party and the leader of the terrorist organization PKK, Abdullah Öcalan—continues its work.

The group coordinators of the reconciliation commission had met recently at the call of TBMM Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş. During this meeting, it was expected that preparations for the process meeting, which the commission was scheduled to hold tomorrow, would be discussed.

POSTPONEMENT ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE PARLIAMENT

However, in an update provided by the Speaker's Office, it was stated that the commission would not be able to meet tomorrow. The statement announced that the 17th meeting of the TBMM National Solidarity, Brotherhood and Democracy Commission has been postponed to a later date.

“POSTPONED TO NEXT WEEK”

In the announcement shared by the Speaker's Office, it was stated, “The 17th meeting of the National Solidarity, Brotherhood and Democracy Commission, which was announced to be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at 11:00 AM, has been postponed to next week.” It was noted that details regarding the day and time the meeting will be held will be announced later.

EMİR: ‘POSTPONED DUE TO TECHNICAL REASONS’

Following the meeting, which lasted approximately one and a half hours, CHP Group Deputy Chairman Murat Emir answered questions from journalists. Emphasizing that the meeting planned for tomorrow was “postponed due to technical reasons,” Emir provided the following information:

“It is planned to be held next Thursday. During the reception, we had the opportunity to consult with Speaker of Parliament Kurtulmuş regarding the methodology of the commission report document. The Speaker of Parliament conveyed to us that he is considering gathering the group deputy chairmen again at the beginning of next week to hold another such meeting. Of course, it is his discretion. Therefore, a meeting is planned for the beginning of next week, and the commission meeting is planned for the following Thursday.”

‘A VISIT TO İMRALI WAS NOT ON THE AGENDA’

Stating that the decision to postpone was made due to some technical disruptions regarding the names the commission will hear, Emir summarized the topics discussed in the meeting as follows:

"The topics we discussed at the meeting were both the fact that this week's meeting will not be held and an exchange of procedures regarding the planning and reporting of the meeting to be held next week. The issue of a visit to İmralı did not come up. The Speaker's Office will also make an official statement."
