Hürriyet Editor-in-Chief Ahmet Hakan reported on the statements of the doctor who became the center of attention after The Sun newspaper secretly recorded a doctor in Turkey for a butt lift surgery known as a 'Brazilian Lift'.

REACTION TO THE ALLEGATION OF TOUCHING WITHOUT PERMISSION

Doctor Aslan, who reached out to Hakan, said, "I remembered her when I saw her photo in the newspaper. We have an appointment system. So, one cannot just come off the street and join the meeting. She had made an appointment. She had a request for what is called a Brazilian butt lift. I have my nurse assistant with me. Even though I know English, I have an interpreter to inform the patient fully, completely, and accurately. I have my gloves on. I asked the patient what she wanted. I also examined her to understand whether her request could be medically fulfilled."

Regarding the allegation that he "touched my body without permission," Doctor Aslan replied, "Can such a thing be possible? Can one touch a person's body without permission? I have a nurse with me, I have an interpreter with me. Can one go beyond the rules of deontology? In the meetings we hold, we do not go beyond the rules of deontology."

Doctor Aslan noted the following:

"Like many hospitals in Turkey, our hospital works to contribute to health tourism. For this, we go to various countries and inform the patients there. The work we do is a promotional and surgery information meeting. We do not hold these meetings secretly in hotel rooms. We hold them in large conference rooms of hotels. At the entrance of the conference rooms, we put up signs saying 'Promotional and surgery information meeting.' In other words, this is an open, transparent, and compliant business. We go to these meetings as a team. It is not just plastic surgeons who take part in the team. General surgery, obesity surgery, dentistry... Our trained experts in these fields also take part. A team of 10-15 people. United Kingdom citizens also take part in the organization we conduct. We have United Kingdom citizen employees who work as experts and assistants in the field of health tourism. We meet with people who want to consult and get information in the conference rooms of hotels."
