Hours before the New Year's celebrations, a group known as the "Tebliğciler" in Istanbul's Taksim Square distributed leaflets with the heading "O My Muslim Brother." Group members argued that Muslims should remain committed to their traditions and beliefs.

'LET US LIVE AS MUSLIMS AND DIE AS MUSLIMS'

Speaking during the leaflet distribution, Bilal Demir said, "We must strive to live as Muslims and die as Muslims. Days like New Year's are unacceptable customs for Muslims. Participating in such events can distance a person from their faith."

'AVOID FALLING INTO DISBELIEF'

Demir claimed that participating in New Year's gifts and celebrations could pose a risk to one's faith, stating, "Even if a small gift is given to someone today, if this behavior is perceived as being done in honor of the New Year, God forbid, there is a danger of falling into disbelief."
