Known as the 'Three Months,' Rajab, Shaban, and Ramadan are considered a sign that Muslims are stepping closer to the month of Ramadan, and it is stated that these months, along with the days and nights within them, increase the spirituality of Muslims.

The Presidency of Religious Affairs (Diyanet) stated, “We should view the Three Months and the nights within them as opportunities and use them as a means for our forgiveness and pardon. In other words, we should repent and seek forgiveness, and cleanse ourselves of our mistakes and faults. If there are things we have neglected, we should try to compensate for them. In particular, while the months of Rajab and Shaban serve as an opportunity to perform missed fasts, one should also read the Holy Quran with its translation and commentary during the Three Months.”

It was explained that after the months of Rajab and Shaban, the month of Ramadan will be observed, and it was noted, “We have very beautiful activities during the month of Ramadan, such as fasting, performing Tarawih prayers, and doing charity. At the same time, the Night of Power (Laylat al-Qadr), which is the name of a chapter in the Holy Quran, also falls in this month.”

The calendar for the Three Months and holy nights (kandil) for 2025 has been arranged by the Presidency of Religious Affairs as follows: The beginning of the Three Months (First Day of the Month of Rajab): Wednesday, January 1, 2025; Regaip Kandili: Thursday, January 2, 2025; Miraç Kandili: Sunday, January 26, 2025; Berat Kandili: Thursday, February 13, 2025; The beginning of the month of Ramadan: Saturday, March 1, 2025; and the Night of Power (Kadir Gecesi): Wednesday, March 26, 2025.
