The toll of May 1st: 12 more arrest requests!

12 people who wanted to reach Taksim on May 1st Labor and Solidarity Day and were detained in an operation yesterday have been referred to the judge with a request for arrest.

May 1st Labor and Solidarity Day operations against citizens who wanted to reach Taksim continued yesterday. 

65 citizens who were detained in house raids on the morning of May 3rd were referred to the Istanbul Courthouse, and 52 of them were referred to the duty judge on charges of 'violating the Law on Meetings and Demonstrations No. 2911'.

13 of the citizens were released under judicial control. The Criminal Court of Peace ordered the arrest of 38 of the 52 citizens whose arrest was requested.

ARREST REQUEST FOR 12 PEOPLE

12 citizens detained as part of the operation were brought to the Istanbul Courthouse today following their procedures at the police station. The 12 people, whose statements were taken by the prosecutor's office, were referred to the Criminal Court of Peace with a request for their arrest.
