Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality teams took the horse to a stable for treatment and have assumed its care under veterinary supervision.
People who saw the horse standing still in the middle of the road in the city two days ago reported the situation to the Metropolitan Municipality teams.
The horse, which was determined to be unable to move due to a broken leg, was taken by municipal officials to the stable at the Eastern Anatolia Livestock Market. Officials are carefully caring for the horse, which has been taken under treatment there.
Ahmet Kılıç, Deputy Secretary General of the Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality, stated that after the report reached their call center that a horse was left in the middle of the street, they went to Şükrüpaşa Neighborhood and determined that the horse remained motionless due to a problem with its leg.
Kılıç said, "The horse was picked up by our teams during the night and brought to our Eastern Anatolia Livestock Market to be treated. It is healthy now. There are some fractures. These fractures are significant. Unfortunately, people believe what they hear. In the footage, the horse is just standing there, and it was shown as if it had frozen. The weather is cold, winter has arrived, but the animal has no such problem. The animal has a fracture in its left hind leg. Because of this, it could not walk," he said.
Stating that they do not have such a duty by law but that they intervene in such situations within their means, Kılıç said, "Our veterinarian colleagues have taken the horse for treatment. We will do our best. We also have an animal hospital at the university. We will take the horse there for treatment soon. It has been bandaged for now. Its daily check-ups are being done. An X-ray will be taken. We will do what is necessary for it to recover," he said.
