It has been 37 years since we lost Adile Naşit, one of the unforgettable names of Turkish cinema and theater.

The artist, who took on memorable roles in classic Yeşilçam films such as Hababam Sınıfı, Bizim Aile, Neşeli Günler, and Mavi Boncuk, succeeded in capturing the hearts of the Turkish people.

FROM THE STORYTELLING AUNT TO THE MOTHER OF CINEMA

Born Adela Özcan, Adile Naşit was born in Istanbul on June 17, 1930. The daughter of the famous Turkish theater actor Naşit Bey, who held the title of "Komik-i Şehir" (City Comedian), and the kanto singer Amelya Hanım, she was also the sister of actor Selim Naşit.

Adile Naşit stepped into acting in 1944 with children's plays. She was a companion both on stage and in life with theater actor Ziya Keskiner, whom she married in 1950. However, the loss of her son at a young age left a deep mark on the artist's life. Following this event, she turned to children's programs and captured hearts as the Storytelling Aunt (Masalcı Teyze) with the children's program Uykudan Önce, which she hosted on TRT in 1980.

HER ICONIC ROLES IN YEŞİLÇAM

The 1947 film Yara, in which Adile Naşit stepped into Yeşilçam, marked the beginning of a long-running career.

From the 1970s onwards, Naşit became one of the most beloved mother figures in Turkish cinema.

She brought to life a character that would not be forgotten for generations, especially with her role as Hafize Ana in the Hababam Sınıfı series.

In 1976, Naşit won the Best Actress award at the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival for the film İşte Hayat.

With her laughter, warmth, and sincere performances, she managed to make the audience both laugh and cry, leaving her mark on an era both on theater stages and on the silver screen.

Laid to rest in the Karacaahmet Cemetery, the artist earned a unique place in the hearts of people of all ages throughout her 43-year career.
