Theologian Cemil Kılıç has reacted to Halil Konakçı, who frequently makes headlines for his anti-constitutional and civil war-inciting comments in religious sermons published on social media.

Kılıç, who was dismissed from his teaching position by the Ministry of National Education (MEB) in 2022 after being targeted by Halil Konakçı and similar figures, expressed his outrage at Konakçı based on his own experience.

Recalling that he was dismissed from teaching with the justification that "you are a civil servant, you cannot make statements, you cannot do television and radio programs, you cannot write columns in newspapers," Kılıç stated that although Halil Konakçı is also a civil servant, he speaks on almost every subject and no action is taken against him.

'HALIL KONAKÇI IS ALSO A CIVIL SERVANT'

"Isn't this oppression?" asked Kılıç, who included the following statements in a post on his social media account:

"HALİL KONAKÇI AND I

They told me, 'you are a civil servant, you cannot make statements, you cannot do television and radio programs, you cannot write columns in newspapers,' and they dismissed me. I have been away from my job for 2 and a half years. Halil Konakçı is also a civil servant. He speaks on every subject, and no one takes action. Isn't this oppression?"
