Thieves who stole diamonds worth approximately 9 million 800 thousand TL from a jewelry store they broke into in Kadıköy were detained by teams from the Public Security Branch's Theft and Pickpocketing Bureau. While the moments of the theft were recorded by security cameras, the 3 thieves were referred to the courthouse after their interrogations.

In Kadıköy, on March 15, 2024, around 04:20 in the morning, 3 masked thieves entered a jewelry store belonging to a person named K.E. and stole diamond jewelry with a market value of 9 million 800 thousand TL. When K.E. opened the business in the morning and discovered the theft, he called the police. Following the report, teams from the Kadıköy District Police Department and the Public Security Branch's Theft and Pickpocketing Bureau were dispatched to the scene.

CAUGHT BY TRACKING SECURITY CAMERAS

Police teams arriving at the scene began examining the security camera footage from the business and the surrounding area. Investigations revealed that the 3 masked thieves fled the scene after the incident in a vehicle with stolen license plates. The Theft and Pickpocketing Bureau teams watched dozens of MOBESE and security camera images along the route and determined that the vehicle had entered the Esenyurt area. The teams, conducting camera surveillance at the last location where they saw the vehicle, observed the thieves removing their masks. The investigation identified the 3 thieves, who had police records, as 34-year-old Medet K., who has a record of 9 crimes; 22-year-old Oğuzhan Ş., who has a record of 10 crimes, 3 outstanding warrants, and a finalized prison sentence of 15 years and 5 months; and 31-year-old Selman G., who has a record of 22 crimes, 3 outstanding warrants, and a finalized prison sentence of 16 years and 3 months.

The 3 thieves, who were detained by the Public Security Branch's Theft and Pickpocketing Bureau teams, were referred to the courthouse after their statements were taken. It was learned that 1 unlicensed pistol, 4 diamond bracelets, and 1 ring were seized during searches of the suspects and their hideouts.
